Learn more about what Eighth College and UC San Diego have to offer through Triton Days.
Eighth College’s philosophy of community and engagement is at the heart of some of the world’s most challenging issues, including structural racism, economic disparities, health and wellbeing, climate disruption, and many more. Eighth College makes integrity, ethical relations, reciprocity, and social justice core principles of its educational mission. Our curriculum centers around a commitment to anti-racism and is anchored by our Critical Community Engagement course series. Our Critical Commuity Engagement courses will help you build strong and honorable community relationships, locally and around the world, and your general education will ensure direct, practical experience.
Eighth College seeks to cultivate students' abilities to understand and respond to these challenges, inspiring and equipping our future leaders. Our team of remarkable faculty and staff are driven by passion and expertise in our mission to provide an exceptional education that builds students’ knowledge, skills, networks, and courage to address the great challenges facing the communities in which we live and are meant to thrive.
Eighth College students will call the Theatre District Living and Learning Neighborhood home. You'll reside in the newest living and learning facilities on campus - near the campus’ theatre district and overlooking the La Jolla shoreline! Our College’s neighborhood promotes a sense of community and healthy living through physical, mental and social well-being by connecting with nature for learning, relaxation and recreation. Learn all about living at Eighth College by visiting Eighth Residential Life.
As the newest addition to UC San DIego, Eighth College welcomes it's second cohort of students in Fall 2024. With our theme of Community and Engagement, all incoming students will have a unique opportunity to continue shaping and influencing our new traditions and programs!
